The SDP election video titled ‘SDP loves Singapore: Vote SDP!’ went viral in cyberspace and garnered more than 13,000 views within one day of its launch:

The one-minute plus video reportedly involves 45 SDP members holding different placards and passing them in a prescribed format to eventually form the sentence – “SDP loves Singapore.”

According to the SDP website, the video which took about one year to complete, was an entirely in-house production.

Being forced into the brink of bankruptcy by a series of defamation lawsuits launched by PAP leaders in 2006, the SDP has managed to reinvent itself and appeared to have secure the support of many young Singaporeans.

The SDP is fielding its strongest ever team consisting of former high-ranking government official Tan Jee Say, psychiatrist Dr Ang Yong Guan, social psychologist Dr Vincent Wijeysingha and teacher Michelle Lee is Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.

Its candidates are also contesting in Sembawang GRC, Yuhua SMC and Bukit Panjang SMC.

Singaporeans go to the polls on 7 May with the ruling PAP facing a massive voter backlash over some of its policies such as its immigration and economic policies which have led to rampant inflation, sky-rocketing property values and a widening income gap between the rich and the poor.
