PM Lee: We are ‘servants’ of the people

Posted by singaporege2011 on April 19, 2011

During a speech made at the YPAP 25th anniversary rally yesterday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made a last-minute attempt to woo the hearts of Singaporeans by making a laughable proclaimation that they are ‘servants’ of the people.
“Never forget we are servants of the people, not their masters. Always maintain a sense of humility and service. Never lord it over the people we are looking after and serving,” he said.
The ruling PAP which rules Singapore with an iron fist for more than fifty years is facing its toughest election to date with public sentiments against its policies at an all time high.
“The vast majority of Singaporeans have seen their lives improve over the past 5 years. We can honestly report that the PAP has lived up to its responsibilities to the people,” he added.
PM Lee’s comments were greeted with a chorus of disapproval and ridicule by most netizens who scoffed at his million dollar salary.
Singapore’s ministers are the highest paid in the world. PM Lee earns about $3.7 million dollars annually, or more than 6 times that of U.S. President Barack Obama.

We the Singapore Citizens have enough of this bullshitting from the first till the third prime ministers. So servants coming 7th May you guys will know the fate on whether your services will be extended or not!!! I’m hoping my fellow Singaporeans will not extend their services as its not up to standard from what they are getting as servants!!!
